A Year of Preparation Actress Ana de Armas to Play Hollywood Icon Marilyn Monroe

Actress Ana de Armas recently talked about the process of making the biopic "Blonde". The film will detail the life of the famous Hollywood icon Marilyn Monroe. This biographical film is directed by Andrew Dominik based on the book of the same name by Joyce Carol Oates. According to de Amas, per Entertainment Weekly, this is also the most intense work she has ever done as an actress.


He bluntly revealed that for filming the film, he even made preparations starting a year earlier. The shooting took only three months, but the schedule was very tight. "It took me a year to prepare for research and accent and everything you can imagine," says de Armas. "Reading material, and talking to Andrew Dominik for months on end, and getting ready to get started. It was three months of non-stop shooting like, a crazy schedule."

While de Armas was preparing for "Blonde", the film was pushed back because he was called up for the James Bond film "No Time to Die". So she heads to London to play Paloma, an impressive supporting character who helps 007 in completing her mission. According to de Armas, he only has about 10 days to two weeks of training, which he says isn't much for all he has to do, which makes him nervous. He also had to go back and forth to London to do two shoots.


"And then, Daniel Craig got injured, and I had to postpone my shoot and come back to work on Marilyn Monroe, who was completely different from the rest emotionally, mentally and physically." "I couldn't imagine myself being that person. And I'm very, very happy, based on my decision, for what Chris did with it because I think Chris is the right person."
