Success In Prime Video Series "Reacher" Alan Ritchson Signs New Contract With Amazon Studios

Following the massive success of Prime Video's series Reacher, which features Alan Ritchson in the lead, Amazon has now announced that the actor has signed a new contract to star in three feature films for the streamer. According to a report from The Hollywood Reporter, Amazon Studios chairman Jennifer Salke has released a statement regarding this news.




“Reacher has exceeded our wildest expectations, and Alan's charming performance has played a huge part in the success of this show. We are excited to continue to grow our relationship and to share what is sure to be an even more brilliant offering for our global Prime Video audience.”

Alan Ritchson became known to the public when he played Aquaman in the Smallville series years before Jason Momoa took over the role for the DCEU. He is also recognizable for his roles from the TV series Blue Mountain State along with its film sequels. Most recently, the actor played Hawk in the HBO Max series Titans, after which he left the series to star in . 

On the big screen, Ritchson is best known for playing Raphael in Michael Bay's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and his previous role in The Hunger Games: Catching Fire. He has also made his directorial debut with the film Dark Web: Cicada 3301.

Ritchson has had tremendous acclaim and success as the lead in Reacher, which debuted on Prime Video last February. The series is based on Lee Child's Jack Reacher book series and received praise for its casting, as many fans felt Ritchson looked like how the character was portrayed in the source material. The series quickly found success, garnering strong reviews in addition to very high views, becoming the first Prime Video series to top Nielsen's streaming charts.

Former Disney Star Bella Thorne Joins 'Saint Clare' Thriller Project

Bella Thorne, a former Disney star and model-actress, has just joined the new thriller project Saint Clare, a film written by American Psycho scriptwriter Guinevere Turner.

The film will follow the story of Clare Bleecker, played by Thorne, a Catholic student who has a religious vocation to murder. Saint Clare is based on Don Roff's novel Clare at 16. The role of a murderer, not the first for Thorne, has previously starred in Netflix's The Babysitter film series. In both films, he plays a high school student/servant of black magic who tries to sacrifice a virgin for eternal life. Rebecca DeMornay is currently in negotiations to join the Saint Clare project which will be filmed in Kentucky.

The film will be directed by Mitzi Peirone who co-wrote the script with Turner. The film was produced by David Chackler, Arielle Elwes, Thor Bradwell, and Joel Michaely. Executive producers for the film are Cassian Elwes, Seth Needle, Mark Damon, Tamara Birkemoe, Veronica Radaelli, Tom Culliver, Nadia Redler, Dave Sereny, and Jere Hausfater.

For the time being, no release date has been set for the film, which is just about to begin production. In addition to Babysitter, Thorne has also starred in Amityville: The Awakening, a 2017 film that dives into the notoriously haunted lore of a certain Long Island spooky mansion that has a history of murder, and perhaps something even more dangerous.
