The length of time does not seem in vain. Remembering the storyline that makes the audience feel like they are riding a rollercoaster. The story begins when Maverick returns to the military base. He meets young pilots for an unimaginable mission. The one that brought him to the past was Lt. Bradley 'Rooster' Bradshaw (Milles Teller). He is the son of the late Lt. Nick Bradshaw aka Goose.

In the first Top Gun film, Goose dies while he and Maverick are practicing. So when Maverick meets Rooster, there is an unresolved grudge. He suspects that his father died because of Maverick, the other because of Rooster's career that the captain had suspended.

Tom Cruise's Action Returns to Flying a Plane in His Latest Film "Top Gun: Maverick"

Tom Cruise's latest film, the sequel to "Top Gun: Maverick", will be showing simultaneously in Indonesian cinemas. The original “Top Gun” film, directed by the late Tony Scott, was previously released in 1986 and made Cruise famous worldwide.

Actor Tom Cruise also shared his story of preparing to play the iconic pilot character Pete “Maverick” Mitchell in his latest film, “Top Gun: Maverick”, which will premiere on May 25 in Indonesian theaters.

Cruise was there to undergo the Aviation Survival Training Center (ASTC) Curriculum, to qualify for extensive flights in the US Navy's F/A-18 which he personally stressed was crucial to the making of the "Top Gun" sequel.

"I've been thinking about a sequel to 'Top Gun' for years," said Cruise, who also serves as a producer on his latest film, quoted from Antara.

“People have been asking for sequels for decades. Decades. And the thing I said to the studio from the start was, 'If I'm going to be involved (again) in this (project), we have to take it practically. I was in that F/A-18, period. So we have to develop camera equipment, wind tunnels and (visual) engineering," Cruise said. He continued production of the film will take a very long time for the team to complete.

“And I want to work with Jerry (Bruckheimer). I wouldn't be making this film without him in a million years. For years, people have been saying, 'Can't you shoot with CGI?' And I've always said, 'No. It's not a (cinema) experience.' I said, 'I need to find the right story. And we will need the right team. This movie is like trying to hit bullet with bullet. I'm not playing'," he added.

Furthermore, Cruise described Bruckheimer simply. According to him, Bruckheimer is a legendary producer and one of Hollywood's great producers.

“When we started working on this film, we were working on the script and I looked at Jerry and I felt like a kid again, like going back to 1985, working with him. (At that time) I wanted to learn everything about being a producer,” Cruise recalls.

"And 'Top Gun' is the next phase for me, in my career. For me, like Jerry, I always wanted to make a good story and entertain the world. That is my goal," he added.

Meanwhile, “Top Gun: Maverick” also premieres at the Cannes Film Festival before making its debut on Memorial Day in American theaters worldwide.
