Joker 2 Coming Soon Lady Gaga Planned To Play Harley Quinn

More than a year after rumors circulated that director Todd Phillips' "Joker" would receive a sequel, a few days ago Phillips officially confirmed the news. Via Instagram, the director not only announced the news, but also mentioned that the film was currently in development.




Now, another good news came when it was reported that Lady Gaga would also be starring in the film. Gaga is in talks to play Harley Quinn in the DC film starring Joaquin Phoenix.

Directed by Phillips, Joker earned over 1 billion US dollars worldwide and earned Phoenix an Oscar for his outstanding performance. Due to the immense success of the film, there has been talk of a Joker sequel happening since 2019.

According to a report from THR, Gaga is in talks to play the character who is the woman the Joker loves. Margot Robbie is currently playing Harley in the DCEU, but now Gaga will have the chance to play a role in "Joker 2" if there's a deal.

News of Gaga's casting as Harley also comes with news that the sequel is meant to be a musical. Gaga's potential casting as Harley Quinn in "Joker 2" would be another big project for the cast.

Previously, Gaga had stunned the audience when in 2018 she starred in "A Star Is Born" opposite Bradley Cooper, and her performance earned her an Oscar nomination. Gaga's most recent appearance was in Ridley Scott's "House of Gucci", although she failed to earn an Academy Award nomination.

However, he did discuss his thoughts on superhero films afterward. The "Alejandro" hitmaker said he would be open to it if the project had something to say.
