Angelina Jolie and Salma Hayek Team Up in 'Without Blood'
Angelina Jolie has appointed her "Eternals" (The Eternals) partner Salma Hayek to work with her on her upcoming film, "Without Blood". This film will be directed by Jolie herself.
Besides Hayek, Demian Bichir is also lined up to star in a film that will be written and produced by Jolie. The feature comes as Jolie's first project under a three-year overall international contract with Fremantle and will be based on Alessandro Baricco's international bestselling novel.
Apart from the two actors above, no other cast members have been revealed yet. Specific details surrounding this film are also still kept secret. Likewise with the storyline.
However, when referring to the novel, the story centers around a child who turns into a woman named Nina. The novel begins in the Italian countryside, an area not frequented by tourists or anyone living outside the village.
This is where the traumatic events of terror and violence take place, leaving only Nina as the sole survivor of her family. The only reason Nina was able to keep her life was because of the mercy of an unnamed character.

Now in her fifties, Nina reconnects and meets the person who saved her years ago and walks back through the horrific events that have changed her and made her the woman she is today.
The film has already started shooting in Southern Italy and Rome. The production team claims that the film will delve deeper into universal truths about war, trauma, memory, and healing. Jolie said she was honored to be trusted to adapt the novel.
"I am honored to be here in Italy to bring this very special material to film, and to have been entrusted by Alessandro Baricco to adapt his book," Jolie said. "With her unique poetry and emotions and way of looking at war, and the questions it raises about what we seek after trauma or loss or injustice."
'Ozark' Star Julia Garner To Play Madonna In Upcoming Film
"Ozark" star Julia Garner has been lined up to play acclaimed music icon Madonna in the upcoming biopic. The biopic will tell about the singer's life.
To land the role, Garner had to compete fiercely in competitive auditions against a number of other big names who are also vying for the role, such as Florence Pugh, Alexa Demie, and Odessa Young, Variety reports.
The biopic is planned to require skilled singers and dancers to act, offering the actress a platform to showcase her diverse talents. Interestingly, this film will be directed by Madonna herself and she will choose her own star to play in the film.
Through the biopic, Madonna wants to convey the extraordinary journey of her life as an artist. The biopic will tell about Madonna's early days in the New York dance world to her status as the Queen of Pop in the 80s. Universal Filmed Entertainment Group chairman Donna Langley won the script in a multi-studio bidding war, with former Sony Pictures head Amy Pascal serving as producer.

This is not the first attempt to make a biopic centered on Madonna's life. In 2017, a script called Blond Ambition, which topped the 2016 Black List for unproduced screenplay, started to gain traction in the industry.
However, Madonna criticized the project. "No one knows what I know and what I have seen. Only I can tell my story. Others who try are frauds and fools," he said.
Now, the "Secret" singer can tell his story in his own way, with the actress of his choice. This is the singer's third time directing a feature film, following his work in 2008 film "Filth and Wisdom" and 2012 biopic "W.E.".
Meanwhile, Garner, rose to fame in her role as Ruth Langmore on Netflix's "Ozark," which just finished four seasons in April. He won two Primetime Emmy Awards for his role in the series.
