The final night of the 2022 Oscars has been held on March 27, 2022. This year, there were 10 films that were nominated for “Best Picture”, one of which was CODA. Besides “Best Picture”, CODA was also nominated for “Best Supporting Actor” and “Best Adapted Screenplay”. Remarkably, this film managed to buy up all three awards. The film, directed and written by Sian Heder, is a remake of the French and Belgian film La Famille Belier (2014). CODA stands for child of deaf adults (child of deaf parents). The film stars three deaf actors, including Marlee Matlin who won the 1987 “Best Actress” Oscar and Troy Kotsur who won the 2022 “Best Supporting Actor.” CODA is about Ruby Rossi, the only person who can hear among her deaf father, mother, and older sister.
